Town Green Groundbreaking, October 11

Ground will be broken for a new Town Green on Tuesday, October 11 at 4:00. It’s this year’s way of celebrating Founders Day, the anniversary of when the Town of Weston came into being.

It’s free. That said, the town’s Beautification Committee still welcomes donations of any size as the fundraising effort successfully approaches the finish line.

Major donors will be honored at the ceremony, which features at least one food truck and remarks by First Selectwoman Samantha Nestor and the Green’s architect, Nancy Thiel. Boy and Girl Scouts will raise the flag and WesTones, the a capella group, will sing.

By the way, Weston turns 235 on the 11th.
