Outdoor Summer Music Begins in June

Weston’s traditional summer of outdoor music begins in the first week of June, with this season’s Music in the Meadow series at Lachat beginning on Friday, June 3 and Weston Historical Society’s Music at the Barn debuting on Sunday, June 5.

At Lachat: Sarah Siskind and Two Bird Stone

Friday, June 3
6:00 – 9:00

You may know Sarah Siskind from her work with Bonnie Raitt and Bon Iver. In this iteration of her collaborative work, the genre is a form of Americana called “Modern Appalachia” as she teams with Two Bird Stone, performing original music.

Two Bird Stone’s new album “Hands and Knees” features three vocals contributed by Ms. Siskind, who is known as a songwriter for film, TV, and major country stars. You can see a performance (with wonderful harmonies) of the album’s title song on YouTube.

Tickets for Sarah Siskind and Two Bird Stone are $26.50 (plus a processing fee), which you can purchase here.

Children under 12 get in for free. Food trucks will be on hand, and Lachat’s Barn Bar will be open. Enjoy.

At Weston Historical Society: Logical Pretzel

Sunday, June 5
5:30 – 7:00

One of the most popular local bands around, Logical Pretzel covers the music of Steely Dan, so you are bound to hear favorites like “Reelin’ In The Years” and “Rikki Don’t Lose That Number.”

The eight-member group came together four years ago with musicians from a number of bands that were well-established crowd favorites throughout the region.

A pizza truck will be on site. Tickets can be ordered online from Weston Historical Society or purchased at the door. Pricing depends on whether you are a member of the Historical Society.
