Lawn signs declaring solidarity with Ukraine will be sold at the Weston Shopping Center plaza from 10:00 to 2:00 on Saturday, May 14.
Proceeds from the sale of each sign, priced at $20, go directly to a dedicated Save the Children relief fund to help Ukrainian kids.
Weston Kiwanis, which organized this fundraising effort, also plan to hold a special benefit concert in June. Tickets are not yet on sale, so word on that will come later.
The scope of a tragedy
Hundreds of Ukrainian children have been killed or injured during the horrifying Russian invasion. According to UNICEF, in just the first few weeks of war about two thirds of Ukraine’s children were displaced from their homes and families.
UNICEF estimates that nearly three million children have been displaced within Ukraine and another two million are now refugees in other countries.
