Nominations Open for WEF Founder’s Award

Nominations are open for the Weston Education Foundation’s prestigious Elizabeth W. Stokes Founder’s Award, which will be given to an outstanding Weston schoolteacher on September 1, the anniversary of the foundation’s formation.

Any Weston student or parent of a Weston student can nominate a teacher for the award, which is named for Ms. Stokes, a longtime Weston resident who founded the organization in 1994. The winner receives a $1,000 cash gift.

The deadline for nominations is May 1. Information about criteria and a nomination form can be found on the WEF website.

The Founder’s Award recognizes a teacher whose curriculum includes “a unique or unusual experience outside the classroom” that has a demonstrated impact on one or more Weston students. Nominated teachers must be in good standing and returning to the Weston schools next year.
