Historical Stories by Monica Peterson, March 27

Storyteller Monica Peterson comes to Weston in celebration of Women’s History Month with the stories of three legendary women, all told in costume, complete with photos and artifacts, to both enlighten and entertain the whole family.

Ms. Peterson performs at the Weston Public Library on Sunday, March 27 at 3:00. Sponsored by Friends of the Weston Library, the program is also available on Zoom. Registration is here.

Ms. Peterson will tell the stories of Sybil Ludington, the Revolutionary War teenager who rode á la Paul Revere to warn of the British invasion of Danbury, Margaret Lamberton, wife of “Ghost Ship” captain George Lamberton, who was immortalized by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, and Hannah Handy, who rescued her son and other young children during the Revolutionary War.

A popular entertainer, Ms. Peterson has performed at the JFK Presidential Library, The Children’s Museum of the Arts in Manhattan, New Britain’s Museum of American Art, Connecticut DEEP Great Park Pursuit, the Connecticut Storytelling Festival, Tellebration, and at festivals, museums, libraries, and schools throughout the area.
