“Sister Act,” the Broadway smash comes to the Weston High School stage in a memorable Company production on March 24–27.
Showtimes for the first three dates are at 7:30. On the 27th, the curtain rises at 3:00. Tickets are on sale right now.
Sister Act, a “joyous musical comedy” with “gospel music, jubilant dancing, and a truly moving story” is based on the hit 1992 movie by the same name. The play was nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
In the story, a gang is out to get a disco diva who witnesses a murder. She enters protective custody in a convent where, disguised as a nun, convent life and a strict Mother Superior do not exactly agree with her. But her charm and disco spirit wins over the convent choir and breathes new life into the community. All seems well until her cover is blown and the bad guys are back.
Company’s cast includes Audrey Mbwa-Mbowa (WHS ‘22), Brian Lombardi (WHS ‘23), Lianna Accettullo (WHS ‘22), Kennedy Boehme (WHS ‘23), Maddy Revzon (WHS ‘23), Emma Seoane (WHS ‘24), Christian Seoane (WHS ‘25), and Billy Stammer (WHS ‘24).
The production is directed by Elizabeth Morris, WPS Theatre Arts Coordinator and WHS Company Advisor. The music is directed by Meghan Stewart, WHS Orchestra Director.
