“Give Lacrosse a Try,” Monday, Grades K–2

Students in grades K–2 are invited to “Give Lacrosse a Try” on Monday, March 21 at an event hosted by the Weston Lacrosse Club.

It all takes place from 1:00 to 2:00 at the Weston High School lower turf field. It’s free, designed to be fun, and features light instruction from high school athletic staffers, players, and Weston Lacrosse Club volunteers.

The Club says this is a “no-commitment opportunity” for boys and girls new to lacrosse to give the game a try.

The program will be run by Josh Thornton, head coach of Weston High School’s varsity boys team, the 2021 Class M state champions, and Jen Mecca, head coach at Gold Coast Lacrosse and assistant coach of the high school’s varsity girls team, 2021’s Class S state runner-up.

Sticks and balls will be provided, and current members of the Weston Lacrosse Club are welcome to come and bring friends or classmates.
