Penguin Plunge for Special Olympics

Fans of cold water will enjoy this year’s Penguin Plunge events, put on as fundraisers by Special Olympics Connecticut.

Six opportunities to take the plunge are scheduled for late February through early April.

Funds raised support Special Olympics year-round sports, health and fitness programs for athletes throughout the state, and help create communities that accept and include people of all abilities.

Participants must be at least eight years old, register for $25, and then fundraise an additional $75.

Online pre-registration is strongly encouraged. An option to participate virtually is available as well.

Penguin Plunges take place in six towns.

  • February 26, Middletown. At the Polish Falcons Club.
  • March 6, New London. At Ocean Beach Park.
  • March 19, Brookfield. At Brookfield Town Park.
  • March 26, Tolland. At Crandall Park.
  • April 2, Fairfield. At Jennings Beach.
  • April 2, Monroe. At Wolfe Park.
