Deep in the cool waters of the Saugatuck Reservoir lie the remains of the village of Valley Forge, founded in the 18th century, once a small but successful manufacturing center.
In the late 1930s, Valley Forge was seized under eminent domain by Bridgeport Hydraulic Co. to be dammed and flooded to supply water to Fairfield County's growing industrial base and population.
At 1:30 on Sunday afternoon, March 14, James Lomuscio, author of 2005's “Village of the Dammed” tells the story of Valley Forge, the long, ultimately lost fight to save homes and businesses, and the implications for today.
Mr. Lomuscio joins you on Zoom in a program hosted by Friends of the Weston Library. Registration is open now.
