Notice: Taxes Due

Notice: Taxes Due

The second installment of Real Estate and Personal Property Taxes on the Grand List of October 1, 2019 is due and payable on January 1, 2021. Failure to pay by February 1, 2021 will result in a late payment with interest of 1-1/2% per month starting with the January 1st due date per State Statute 12-145. Minimum interest charge is $2.00.

Governor Lamont has issued Executive Order 9R to allow taxpayers to defer paying taxes without interest through April 1, 2021. If you have been affected financially by COVID; a form is available at the town website to sign and return that will allow you 90 days grace to pay the January installment. You can also call our office and we will mail the form to you. You must postmark the form by February 1, 2021 to receive the deferral.

Due to the restrictions from COVID 19, the Tax Collector’s office will NOT be taking any payments at the window in Town Hall until further notice. If you have any questions, please call or email our office. Taxpayers will need to mail or pay online at www.westonct.gov or pay by phone at 855-844-0237. Service fees will apply. Please see more information at the bottom of the page. The town also has a Dropbox installed for payments. It is located on the library side entrance to Town Hall.

Please use the correct stub when paying. If you do not have your tax bill, please call or email the Tax Collector’s Office. You can also check online for payment amounts at the town website noted below. Failure to receive a tax bill does not excuse the taxpayer from tax and delinquent interest (C.G.S.12-130).
