Amy Gare, Board of Finance

According to the Democratic Town Committee, Amy Gare is the managing partner of Gare Law, LLC, a Weston-based legal practice, where she represents large corporations and financial institutions. Previously, she was Assistant General Counsel and the Deputy Ethics and Compliance Officer for Capgemini, N.A. The DTC describes Ms. Gare, a Weston resident of 13 years, as a "community activist, focused on properly funding the school system while fostering the overall well-being of the town." She responded to Weston Today's questions in an interview.

Why are you running?

"I love the community. We have made a lot of good friends in Weston, who have become like family."

What is on the table?

"The main challenge is reviving the real estate market. On the Board of Finance, I want to work with the other boards and commissions and the public to develop ideas about how we can create conditions that improve property values."

"On the opportunity side, we have a great team on the Board of Finance from both sides of the aisle. We have a good combination of experience and fresh eyes. It's very exciting to have this opportunity."

What do you bring to the table?

"I have 20 years of legal and corporate experience. I have learned how to work with a variety of stakeholders to achieve results. I'm passionate about this town."

"You see Weston at its best when people need a hand, when they've suffered a tragedy, and they need support from the community. And Weston always responds. It's inspiring to see everyone pull together when it really matters."
