Homes in the Weston Connecticut area continue to be in high demand. Larger homes are back in fashion as the desire for home offices and indoor recreation spaces stays strong.
Through the end of May, 33 homes over 4,500 square feet have been sold in 2021, compared to only 19 during the same time period in 2019. And, the homes are spending fewer days on market before selling — a median of 57 days in 2021 versus 195 days in 2019.
Weston’s two-acre zoning and its A+ rated public school district are attractive to city-dwellers looking for their first home purchase and to others from nearby areas.
In all size categories, there have been 91 closed sales in Weston this year, up an astonishing 75% from 2019 levels and 44.4% from 2020. Supply remains incredibly tight, with half as many homes for sale today (65) as there were at this point last year (130) and a 58% drop from 2019 levels.
Move-in ready is desired, however, we see many new homeowners tackling renovations soon after closing, turning their house purchase into their home.
