"Walk the Runway" Show, November 4

The first annual “Walk the Runway” mother-daughter fashion show debuts on Sunday afternoon, November 4 from 2:00 to 5:00 in the Parish Hall at Norfield Congregational Church.

This new event is being put on by the local chapter of P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization), which promotes educational opportunities for women. If you don’t know about P.E.O.’s grant and scholarship programs, read about them in our previous article.

“Walk the Runway” features local mothers and daughters modeling the latest fashions from Scout & Molly’s in Westport, Snappy Gator in Fairfield and Wilton, and Southern Tide/Splash of Pink in Westport. Desserts and tea sandwiches prepared by Christina Mattinson of Dough & Co. will be served.

Tickets are $35 for adults and $10 for students. Proceeds benefit Chapter P-Weston’s scholarship fund for high school girls from Weston, Redding and Easton.

Tickets may be purchased online at www.peochapterpct.org or at the door. If you cannot attend but would like to donate, you can do that online too.

Weston’s Bernie Park (photo, right) and her daughters, Katie (left) and Krista (center) will be among the local mothers and daughters modeling the latest in fall fashions.

Chapter P-Weston has worked to further P.E.O.’s educational mission through the creation of a needs-based Memorial and Honorarium Scholarship Fund for high school girls.
